Step 5 of 10
Trip types
Some jobs are dropped off and never returned to. Some need a strike trip. Four legs is the maximum — a rental item rides along on trips you already make, it never creates its own journey.

Legs
The two trip types
Type A · 2 legs
Leave behind, no return
Everything is disposable or the client keeps it
The delivery fee only has to cover the drive out and back once.
Type B · 4 legs
Return to strike
You come back to tear down a backdrop or a rental
The second round trip plus teardown costs about $40 at your reference distance.
Right now 50% of your jobs are Type B, which is what sets the average legs used on the delivery page. Nothing is priced here.
Don't put the return trip in the delivery fee. Put it in the item that causes it.
Delivery is one fee for everyone, so a backdrop customer would be subsidised by the garland-only customer. The backdrop is the only reason you drive back out, so it should carry that $40 itself. Price your items on step 7.
